A new record for companies being formed in one day

There are usually 2000 to 3000 newly formed companies every working day formed in the UK. They do often get formed at the weekend as well but to a much lesser degree - partly because the accountants etc are often not working at the weekend to submit the company request and Companies House don't have as many people in at the weekend as they do during the working week.

Following the issues earlier this month at Companies House where companies were not being registered and other filings were not being processed, they pulled out all the stops to catch up and we saw the high 4,000's being formed in a day. Yesterday we got to 6481 companies formed in one day - nearly 6 and a half thousand companies processed and incorporated and added to the register on 22nd June. I recall April 2024 where nearly 100,000 were formed in the month prior to prices being put up 5 fold in May and I'm not sure that even then we got to anywhere near 6500 in a single day.
