New ID Check Service

Our new website is currently being completed but the Identity Checks facility is about to go live following final checks. Sometime next week (w/c 24th Nov), you will be able to carry out document photo and selfie based ID Checks and ACSP (Companies House) based identity checks, plus our standard MLR identity check is being updated to require your client to provide the details themselves, which means you are then freed from the burden of typing the details in each time.

Plus, no longer will you need to pay for the checks one at a time. You can buy in bulk and get discounts based on the quantity purchased which will also cut down on the time spent carrying out checks and mean that a member of staff who doesn't have access to the company credit card can carry out the ID Checks, with someone else periodically topping up the account. Also, if you are buying in bulk, you can use Klarna to offset the payment - either paying in installments or paying up to 30 days later, allowing you to get the benefit of cheaper checks but offset the payments.

You can still continue to use this site until our new site takes over early next year but we think the new system is much easier to use and offers great benefits - and all at the same price! Watch this space.

Our electronic money laundering regulations (MLR) check complies with the Law Society requirements. Estate Agents, Solicitors, Accountants, Independent Financial Advisors and Mortgage brokers are just some service providers who can all benefit from ad hoc online identity checking. Money Laundering Regulations Compliant Identity Check

An online identity check compliant with the Joint Money Laundering Steering Group requirements, at just £3.99 +VAT per check. Integral mortality, sanctions and PEP searches (HMT, EU, CIA and OFAC) and optional telephone, passport, driving licence and NI number checking. Suitable for AML and other ID checks on any individual of any nationality who is currently resident in the UK. International Money Laundering Identity Check

This check may be run on any individual when the address is not relevant or if the person does not reside in the UK. It checks the PEP (Politically Exposed Persons list) and Sanctions lists (HMT, EU, CIA and OFAC). For AML purposes the overseas address should be verified by documentary or other means as carrying out an International Check will not request a home address check. Just £3.49 +VAT per check. This report shows CCJs past and present, Bankruptcy order registrations, Any disputes or Correction Orders currently in place, That the client's name has been properly specified and matches the address given, Number, amount and dates of CCJs, Amount and date of any bankruptcy, Details of any Notices of Correction or Disputes recorded,Includes Scottish equivalents for all listed items

Please note that it is a legal requirement in all circumstances that the client is informed that a credit screen or search is being carried out. Credit Screens are available at £3.49+VAT

The HR Check combines the UK ID check, Credit Screening, a check for current UK directorships and validation of UK bank account details. Ideal for Human Resource departments or enhanced screening of customers.At a price of £7.49+VAT it offers great value for money

Criminal Records

What used to be called a CRB check. or Criminal Records Bureau check, now referred to as the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check comes as a basic level criminal record disclosure form (£39+VAT) and also Standard (£49+VAT) and Enhanced levels (£61+VAT) forms.

The Basic form discloses all convictions which are not spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, or states that there are none. Available for any position and is the most commonly used disclosure. It is suitable for all sectors and the typical turnaround time for a Basic Disclosure is 5 - 10 working days.

Standard Disclosure: Discloses all spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands and warnings. Standard Disclosure can only be ordered for positions that meet certain eligibility criteria, for example FCA Approved Persons, Chartered Accountants, Lawyers, Actuaries, Security Guards and others with the typical turnaround time for a Standard Disclosure is 1-5 working days.

Enhanced Disclosure: Discloses all spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands and warnings. It may also contain non-conviction information from local police forces. Enhanced Disclosure can also check the relevant ISA barred lists to ensure the individual is not barred from working with children and/or vulnerable adults. Enhanced Disclosure can only be ordered for positions that meet certain eligibility criteria, for example those working in a Regulated Activity or in relation to children (and establishments) or vulnerable adults under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006. The typical turnaround time for an Enhanced Disclosure is 1-7 working days.

Residential Address

Because you are doing an international identity check, you do not provide a current residential address because it is not possible to confirm international addresses for residency. This will mean you have to verify the address by other means

Please provide the customer's CURRENT residential address. If they have only just moved, and have not updated their bank and credit card records for example, then the check may not return useful results.

If you provide a driving licence number, please ensure that you have provided the FULL name of the identity being checked. If you do not provide the middle name, but a middle name was provided to the DVLA when the driving licence was issued, then the driving licence check will fail.

PEP and Sanctions Monitoring

New for July 2024: In addition to carrying out a PEP and Sanctions check as part of the ID Check, you can now also request monitoring of changes to PEP and Sanctions information for this client. We will email you each time we see any changes on PEP or sanctions data over the next 12 months, so that you can decide whether or not this has an affect on your business relationship with this client. We will invoice you in 12 months time for the same amount to cover you for another 12 months unless you request to us that you no longer wish to monitor the client. Simply choose the option below to activate for an extra £1.50+VAT per year.

You are about to carry out an online identity check

The verification system checks multiple data sources, such as the UK electoral register, Companies House, credit databases, death registers etc and so this system can only carry out full ID checks on people living within Great Britain and Northern Ireland (not overseas). If a person has recently moved (within the last 4 to 6 weeks) or has not updated their bank account / credit card details as yet, the system is less likely to be able to verify their identity because there will be little or no associated data to link the person to the address provided.

The report highlights any inconsistencies between the data provided by your customer and the data stored in a variety of online databases and gives you the information required to determine whether to deal with the customer or to request further paper based identity if you are unsure. You will be invoiced at the time the check is run. If you have a direct debit in place with us, you need not provide your payment details when you request the check, otherwise you will be requested to pay by card prior to the check being run.

The International check does not check the residential address. This means you can use the service to check your overseas person for being a politically exposed person, sanctions checks and passport check digit verification, with you carrying out additional paper document checks for confirming their address.
